Tri-Village Volunteer Fire Company borders Greene County to the North, North West. Along with Medusa, and Rensselaerville, they are one of three Fire Departments providing fire protection for the Town of Rensselaerville and are located on Rt 145, in Preston Hollow. Tri-Village, comprised of the three communities of Preston Hollow, Potter Hollow and Cooksburg, was established in 1933 and put into service a 1933 Ford, locally built fire engine as it's first apparatus.

The current Fire Chief is Jay Lounsbury.
