The Catskill Fire Department has roots back to the 1840's when Company One was
formed. It was followed in 1886 by Company 2 and in 1889 Company 5 was formed. The Department ran this way until March
11, 2003 when the Village of Catskill Board of Trustees decided to consolidate the Catskill Fire Department from three
separate fire companies into one new consolidated Department.The members of Hose Co. No. 1 Inc., A.M. Osborn Hose Co. No.
2 Inc. and Citizens Hose Co. No. 5 Inc. merged and voted to incorporate the Catskill Fire Department.
The "West End" Station is located at 1 Central Ave where the majority of apparatus is housed. 422 Main St. is a
second station housing misc. equipment and the parade rigs.
Currently Jon Dees is the department chief.

DEDICATION AND WETDOWN FOR T-315 ON SUNDAY A GREAT TIME!
The Catskill Fire Department held an open house and wetdown on Sunday July 19,2009. The event
was to honor and welcome their new Tower Ladder T-315, a 2008 Sutphen 1500/300/0/95' Bucket.
The festivities began at 1PM with an open house to
view all the District Fire Equipment and fire station. At 2PM ceremonies were opened with a convocation and a welcome
from Chief of Department Jack Ormerod Sr. and First Assistant Chief Jonathan Dees and Second Assistant Chief Paul PD Ormreod
Jr.
Following the ceremony, the truck was christened
and the wetdown began. Ladders from City of Hudson Fire and Athens Fire doused the new rig while Tankers from Becraft and
West Athens supplied the water. Hudson Engine 30, Catskill's Mutual Aid FAST Unit, participated using handlines from their
Engine.
Refreshments were supplied by the Host
Department and were enjoyed by all.
During the ceremony,
a hand-made quilt was donated to the Department by Bernice and JB Barnett. Mrs. Barnett hand made the quilt to show here appreciation
for all their fine work throughout the years.
