Since the devistating fire in Jan '10, The Ashland Fire department has limped
along but remained solid, and as of now, have almost completely restored their firefighting fleet.
Immediately following the fire, the Catskill Fire Department graciously loaned Ashland Engine 311, a 1993 Peterbuilt/Pierce.
A donated Rescue Truck form the Onondaga Indian Reservation filled that void. Department members worked feverously to restore
the mini, M 1-6, and that now is in service. Round Top FD, when their new Engine arrived, donated their 1979 Ford/Grumman
ETA and that too, is available.
Then, the week of Aug 30, 2010, their new E 1-6, arrived,
a 2010 IH/Darley engine. 1500 gpm Darley pump/ 1250 water/ and 40 gallons foam cell, for the Darley Auto CAFS system.
The
1995 IH 4900 Engine 1-2 has finally been refurbished and is now in service. The Ex-Round Top Engine has a new home, with the
Jewett Fire Department and will be in service soon. Most of the apparatus has been relocated to the new fire
station with Engine 1-2 temporarily housed in the western end of the district until the work on Rt 23 is completed.
An open house/dedication is being planned for the spring. 2013.

Ashland Fire Department Disasterous Fire
As you may already know, The Ashland Fire Department suffered a major loss recently, losing
it's station and all apparatus. These units are shown below.
Currently, the AFD
is using an ETA graciously loaned to them by the Catskill Fire Department. Also, a 1988 Ford Heavy Rescue has been donated
to them by the Onondaga Indian Reservation. These two units are in service, running out of the Ashland Highway Garage. They
are pictured below.
As of Sunday, Feb. 21, the old building has been completely removed, and
plans are in the works for a new building.
The Ashland Rescue Squad also lost it's
newest ambulance, Unit 71-1, a 2008 Ford/Braun Ambulance. Within the last two weeks, it was replaced by a 2009 Ford E450/Braun
Unit. So they are back to full strength of two Ambulances, currently housed at a business in Town.
