The Earlton Fire Department is one of two departments protecting the Town
of Coxsackie. Coxsackie Fire Dept. being the other. Located on State Rt 81 in the hamlet of Earlton, 12058, Earlton
was originally protected by Coxsackie Fire, and as the population in the area grew, a need for their own protection was warranted. They
filed for incorporation in 1963, and on January 29, 1964, they were granted incorporation.
In 1971, the members expanded the station from it's original single bay by two additional bays. It's first apparatus
was a 1954 Studebaker, originally part of the Coxsackie Fire Dept. Through the years a number of apparatus were added, most
notabaly being the 1952 Autocar, purchased from Colonie Village Fire Co. Today this piece is located in the Volunteer Fireman's
Home Museum in Hudson NY.
The current Chief of Department is Ed Lovelock.
