     The Village of Coxsackie was originally protected by 6 Volunteer Fire Companies, with Hose 3 getting it's start in 1894. Through the years that number dwindled to it's current level of two. D M Hamilton Co. #2, located on lower Mansion St. and Hose Co. #3 located a few blocks west on Mansion St. Hamilton is a Village Company running with one engine and a Utility. Hose 3 provides one engine coverage for the Village plus handles calls in the District, with the remaining equipment in their station. 
     Issued the County Identifyer #5, They are in the Fifth Battalion and along with Earlton provide coverage for the entire Town of Coxsackie.

Present Chief of Department/District is Karl Kiltts.
