Greene County is approximately 130 miles north of New York City and 30 miles
south of Albany, the state Capital. It is located along the western shore of the Hudson River and extends majestically
up into the Catskill Mountains.
With a population around 50,000 the County has 19 Towns and
Villages, with Catskill being the County Seat, protected by 27 Fire Departments and Districts, totally volunteer.
My goal on this site is to showcase the volunteer fire service in Greene County by displaying the
current and past apparatus of these Departments.
I am a volunteer firefighter with
over 40 years experience and a huge firebuff. Once I retired from my full-time job, I decided to "shoot" fire trucks!
Now, this has become my current full time job!! I created this website to share these photos with others that share the same
interests.
I am honored to be able to put this site together for my firefighting
brothers and sisters in Greene County. I have met some really wonderful folks and look forward to meeting even more as I move
along to reach my goal.
